John Calipari recruiting another top player from Kentucky

John Calipari has always been known as a great recruiter, and in 2024 — the era of the transfer portal and NIL deals — he has tapped into an existing pipeline to help him hit the ground running at Arkansas.

Calipari recruited multiple players to play for him at Kentucky, so why not extend the offer to bring them in as Razorbacks?

Adou Thiero recently committed to Arkansas via the transfer portal as did Zvonimir Ivisic. Now it's being reported that DJ Wagner, who hit the transfer portal when Calipari left for Arkansas, is considering the Razorbacks as well.

Wagner will visit Arkansas this weekend, per Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports.

Wagner would be a nice addition for Arkansas. He averaged 9.9 points, 3.3 assists and 1.9 rebounds per game while shooting 40.5 percent from the field as a freshman last season for Kentucky — good enough to earn him All-SEC freshman team honors.

Wagner was a top recruit in 2023, ranked as the No. 1 combo guard in the country and the No. 6 hooper overall, per 247Sports.
