One of Dolphins' 2024 preseason opponents leaked in a now-deleted social media post
Kim Klement-USA TODAY Sports

It appears the Miami Dolphins know who at least one of their preseason opponents is going to be - if you believe that team's social media department.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers put up a since-deleted post on Twitter/X on Monday that showed all of the Bucs' 2024 opponents, with three additional teams included beyond their regular season home and away opponents.  The Vikings, Jaguars, and Dolphins were the three teams listed.

It appears as though someone with the social media team jumped the gun on the post, as the team hasn't announced its preseason games yet.

According to JC Allen of Bucs Gameday, the Bucs had requested a preseason game with the Dolphins in the hopes of having a joint practice.  It's a logical request given the short distance between the intrastate franchises.  It should also be good for ticket sales for whichever of the franchises hosts the game given the crossover of fans in the respect cities.

The Dolphins and Buccaneers have been regular preseason opponents over the years.  Over the last decade, the teams have played five times.  The teams last met in August 2022, when the Dolphins defeated the Bucs 26-24 at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa.

The Dolphins' full regular season schedule will be revealed on Wednesday, May 15 at 8:00 pm ET on the NFL Network.
