Titans announce plan if Will Levis can't play in Week 16

Ryan Tannehill could be back in a starter role for the Tennessee Titans in Week 16.

Will Levis played through a sprained ankle in the Titans’ Week 15 loss to the Houston Texans. He underwent an MRI on Monday and was not scheduled to practice on Wednesday due to his ankle.

Titans head coach Mike Vrabel told reporters Wednesday that Tannehill will start at quarterback on Sunday against the Seattle Seahawks if Levis can’t play.

Vrabel said that both Tannehill and Malik Willis would work with the Titans’ offense in practice.

Tennessee is 5-9 this season, but are 4-3 at home. They’re the only team in the AFC South without an 8-6 record.

Tannehill started the first six games of the season for the Titans but he injured his ankle in a game against the Ravens in London. Willis served as the backup to Tannehill in that game.

The Titans had Week 7 off, but when they returned in Week 8, Levis got the opportunity to start. He passed for four touchdowns in his debut and held onto the starting job thereafter. The Titans have gone 3-5 under Levis.

Now it looks like Tannehill will get the chance to start once again. He’s happy about the opportunity.
