Titans game-by-game predictions after 2024 NFL schedule release

The Tennessee Titans will look like a much different team from last year once the 2024 season kicks off, which we now know will be on September 8 against the Chicago Bears in Week 1 of the regular season.

On Wednesday, the full 2o24 NFL schedule was released for all 32 teams, including the Titans. Tennessee and their fans can now start to prepare for what’s ahead in the upcoming season. However, Titans’ fans will have to wait until Week 2 until they see their new-look team under new head coach Brian Callahan.

With the schedule now set, let’s take a look and give a game-by-game prediction on each opponent the Titans will face in 2024.

Week 1 at Chicago Bears

The Titans and their new-look offense began against what still should be a stout Bears defense, even if it still didn’t solve its pass rush issues in the offseason. It’s just Week 1, so giving the offense time to jell will be necessary. The first game of the season might everything might not be quite in sync. The Titans hand Caleb Williams and the Bears their first win. WIN

Record: 0-1

Week 2 vs. New York Jets

Levis and the offense face another defensive challenge in Week 2. Though the offensive line was reconstructed a bit, this is a Jets defense that can not only get after the quarterback but limit yards down the field. Titans lose. LOSS

Record: 0-2

Week 3 vs. Green Bay Packers

The Titans get to host Jordan Love and the Packers for their second consecutive home game. This feels like a game that could go either way. But this is a young and hungry Packers team that caused a lot of teams fits last year. It’s a close one but one that ultimately goes the Packers’ way. LOSS

Record: 0-3

Week 4 at Miami Dolphins (Monday Night Football)

Miami is an interesting team this year because they were gutted in free agency due to cap reasons. But they still have some offensive firepower. However, Tennessee made some nice additions to their secondary this offseason that could be the difference. The Dolphins are still trying to forget the upset the Titans pulled on them in last year’s Monday Night Football contest. In their only primetime game, the Titans pull out a win. WIN

Record: 1-3

Week 5 – BYE

Week 6 vs. Indianapolis Colts

In their first division matchup, they’ll host the Colts. The Titans were swept by them last year. But this will be a Colts team still with some question marks surrounding that mostly hover over quarterback Anthony Richardson. Will he even be healthy? If so, how productive will he be? I like the Titans to pick up their second victory here. WIN

Record: 2-3

Week 7 at Buffalo Bills

Another team that was gutted in the offseason was the Bills. Granted, they still have Josh Allen and had a decent draft, but right now, this isn’t looking like the Buffalo team everyone used to fear. The Titans and their offense take advantage of a depleted Bills secondary to get to .500. WIN

Record: 3-3

Week 8 at Detroit Lions

The Lions are not going to be easy to play at home for the foreseeable future. The run they had last season has that fanbase ready to pounce on any team that enters Ford Field. So, this will not be a victory for the Titans. LOSS

Record: 3-4

Week 9 vs. New England Patriots

Nothing is guaranteed in the NFL but there will be a lot of teams hoping to get what may look like a sure-fire win over this group of Patriots if they are on their schedule. For years, that obviously wasn’t the case but this team is nothing even close to resembling those dynasty teams. The Titans should easily win this. WIN

Record: 4-4

Week 10 at Los Angeles Chargers

The battle of two new head coaches will take place in L.A. in Week 10. However, one coach, that being Jim Harbaugh, has way more experience than the other, that being Callahan. It’s doubtful this will be the best version of the Chargers we’ll see but it will still be a pretty good one. LOSS

Record: 4-5

Week 11 vs. Minnesota Vikings

Smudged between two important AFC road games will be the Vikings at home. What will this Minnesota team look like come mid-November, though? Who’s behind center? The Titans have a lot more clarity and possibly an offense that’s hitting its stride. WIN

Record: 5-5

Week 12 at Houston Texans

The Texans put a beating on the Titans in Houston on their way to an AFC South title, allowing Tennessee to score only three points. While the Titans may put up more points this year, a win still won’t occur. LOSS

Record: 5-6

Week 13 at Washington Commanders

The Commanders have done a nice job to set up for the future but this team has a ways to go before they start stringing wins together. The Titans win decisively. WIN

Record: 6-6

Week 14 vs. Jacksonville Jaguars

The AFC South battles take place largely at the tail end of the season, with Titans probably scrapping all the way until the end to snag one of the last playoff spots. The Jaguars should be much better this season, that is if they can avoid late injuries like last year. LOSS

Record: 6-7

Week 15 vs. Cincinnati Bengals

Callahan gets to welcome his old team into Nissan Stadium in a mid-December matchup that could have some AFC playoff indications. Both could be vying for a spot of the Bengals could just looking to gain a higher seeding. If Joe Burrow is healthy, then this should go the Bengals way. LOSS

Record: 6-8

Week 16 at Indianapolis Colts

Even though they’ll be needing a win to stay in the playoff hunt, playing the Colts at home is never easy. Titans are on a losing streak. LOSS

Record: 6-9

Week 17 at Jacksonville Jaguars

It will be interesting to see how the somewhat improved offensive line is looking for the Titans by the end of the season. Will first round pick JC Latham have taken over the left tackle spot? The goal for sure is to not lead the league in sacks allowed like they did last season. But it will have another test against the Jaguars in Week 17. The Titans get swept by the Jags in 2024. LOSS

Record: 6-10

Week 18 vs. Houston Texans

The Texans could very well have the division wrapped up weeks before the last week of the season, although Jacksonville will likely be in contention, too. However, this is still a big rivalry game that has deep roots to the days of the Houston Oilers. Tennessee will be looking to end on a high note and maybe even spoiling some of the Texans playoff seeding. WIN

Record: 7-10
