‘Great coach’ expected to join Liverpool gets ringing endorsement from Tottenham star

Sporting CP manager Ruben Amorim has been linked with a move to the Premier League with Liverpool expected to appoint him.

Jurgen Klopp has confirmed that he will take a sabbatical from management at the end of the season and Liverpool are looking to bring in a quality replacement. Recent reports state that Liverpool are closing in on an agreement with the 39-year-old manager.

Tottenham defender Pedro Porro has now delivered a ringing endorsement of the Portuguese manager. Porro played under him during his time at Sporting CP and he believes that Amorim is a great coach destined for great things. The Tottenham defender also wished the 39-year-old well for his future.

Porro said to O Jogo: “Everyone knows what a good coach he is, he does things very well, he’s a great coach. I wish him all the best and have nothing but good things to say about him.”

It will be interesting to see if Liverpool can secure his appointment in the coming months. The 39-year-old has certainly proven his quality at Sporting CP and he will be hoping to make his mark in the Premier League if the move to Liverpool goes through.
