Xavi Simons could leave Paris Saint-Germain this summer with Barcelona considering a move to bring him back to Catalonia.

The Catalans are putting in place a plan to bolster across multiple positions ahead of the 2024/25 season.

However, due to their delicate financial situation, Xavi Hernandez will need to sell players before he can bring in new faces.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has hinted Barcelona want to bring Simons in on loan following his departure from the club as a youth team player in 2019.

PSG are not considering a sale for the 21-year-old, but they could be open to another loan, following a campaign at Bundesliga side RB Leipzig.

Luis Enrique was asked about his plans for the Dutch international, when he returns from Germany, but the former Barcelona boss was non committal over what he wants to do.

“My rule is not to talk about players who are not at the club right now. He’s a player out on loan and I maintain my position”, as per quotes from Mundo Deportivo.

Simons has impressed in the Bundesliga with seven goals and 11 assists in league action.
