New Udinese coach Fabio Cannavaro feels Lazar Samardzic will be key for their survival chances.

Cannavaro was named new coach Udinese yesterday to the end of the season.

He said at today's presentation: "Both Quagliarella and Di Natale wrote to me, there were many Neapolitans here and I hope to leave a mark like them. I had never seen the team live, so in these 48 hours I immersed myself, then I rely a lot on what I see in training.

"Samardzic is the guy with the most quality, people expect a lot from him, today he's in a bit of trouble but that's normal, when the opponents know you then they pay attention. Lucca, I saw in the national team. Time is short, now we have to focus on the most important things, we have to create a collective, think as a team, to get out of this we can't think on an individual level."

Asked about Roberto Pereyra, Cannavaro added: "I'll go to a meeting with him shortly. I'll speak individually with everyone, the more information I can get from the guys the better.

"When you arrive in a new context you have to get information quickly, we have twenty minutes to recover in a very short time, then another match, so I'll meet up with the various guys soon."
