Wow. That's really all there is to say about former Houston Astros player Evan Gattis and his actions on Monday night on Twitter. Gattis made some interesting, albeit wild admissions about his time with the Astros, which happened to be during the infamous 2017 MLB season.
The phrase “time heals all wounds” has been attributed to a Greek dramatist known as Menander circa 300 B.C. It’s unlikely, though, that he had the Astros’ sign stealing scheme from over 2,000 years later in mind when he uttered those words.
While Evan Gattis became a fan favorite to many Houston Astros fans, the former designated hitter and catcher was also a pivotal piece to the World Series title in 2017.
Gattis confirmed his playing career is now finished in an appearance on the "755 Is Real" podcast.
Most would say Fiers did the right thing, but not Evan Gattis.
What's better than winning the World Series? Winning it on multiple occasions in a row — and that's what the Houston Astros are going to be going for this season.
Defining a player's value is more nuanced than simply checking the box score, but there's one position in baseball that is a bit easier to judge. I'm talking, of course, of the designated hitter.
